Unexpectedly but peacefully at home on May 15, 2021 at the age of 80. Ron was a loving and much loved husband of Jen for 55 years. A loving and supportive Dad to Guy (Patti), Gregg (Darlynn), and Gemma (Andrew) and a proud and doting Grandpa to Eiryn and Kenzie; Courtney and Caitlin; and Isabella. A man of such very rare stock ... dearest Ron of Raith was the patriarch to so many wonderful folk who now serve as living testament to his wonderful legacy.
I am blessed to have broken bread and to have spent time with a man of such rare love, honesty & wisdom who has touched the lives of thousands.
Love to you all, Dara & Co.

I am absolutely heartbroken and still at a loss for words. I don't think the shock is ever going to wear off.

Grandpa, I feel so happy and lucky to have had you in my life for almost 25 years but sadly, that still wasn't enough time with you. You were the epitome of what it means to be the world's best grandpa. I could always count on you to be in the stands cheering me on at my soccer and hockey games. You supported me every step of the way throughout my journey to becoming a teacher. Above all, you loved me every single day and always told me how proud you were of me. I would do anything to hear that one more time and give you another hug. I hope I continue to make you proud and am honoured to be your granddaughter.

On a lighter note, I will never forget how you would draw out ideas and equations on a napkin. Or the stories I was told of you packing up your toast and taking it with you to work in your pocket. These things will always make me laugh! You also encouraged me to continue trying when learning how to drive when I was too nervous. I am so happy I continued with this and got to take you for a drive in my first car.

Thank you for being the best grandpa and an incredible person. I will always feed the birds for you (even though you know I am scared of them) and teach my students with the care that you coached your players with.

I'll always love you,
Eiryn

Still in shock and completely lost for words. Beyond devastated right now but so honoured to have been able to call you my Grandpa. Thank you for all of the laughs and advice and for giving me so many great memories to look back on forever. From trips to Lake George, my graduations, and most importantly, seeing you in the stands at as many hockey games as possible. Thank you for everything you did to support the Harmison family.

Love, Kenzie Raith
