Obituary

Jean MacLennan passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 8, 2020. She lived a full and happy life, and was familiar to many in her involvement in the family sawmill, as a bus driver to Laggan Public School and as a correspondent to the Glengarry News for the village of Dalkeith. Christena Jean (nee Grant) was born at Laggan, and lived most of her life in Dalkeith with her late husband, Kenneth. She leaves her children: Ian of Dalkeith, Joyce (Archie Lascelle) of Laggan, Mary (late John Weese) of Maxville and Ruth (Garry MacQueen) of Maxville, predeceased by infant son Hugh. She was the proud grandmother of Josie MacLennan-Seguin, Barry & Bert MacLennan, Scott & Ryan Weese and Hughie & Morgan MacQueen and great-grandmother of 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters Marg McNiece of Brampton and Donna Levesque of Ottawa; predeceased by her brother Sheldon and parents James R. Grant & Isabel MacCrimmon. Friends & relatives may call at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main Street South, Alexandria, ON (613-525-2772) on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 from 6 to 9 pm and Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 am. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of the Funeral Home on Wednesday at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations to the Charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Jean a tree will be planted in a memory woods. A tree grows-memories live.
