It was my pleasure to become a dear friend of Ethel's in the last few years. When I first went to the Carleton Place area she immediately reached out to me to explain her connection with Carleton Place. When my mom was in failing health her daughter Karen was very good to check in on mom. It was a pleasure for me to know Ethel. My sympathy to all family members. Oh that we might all lead such a fulfilling life. I would like to be able to attend her funeral if numbers permit, when it occurs.

Ethel was such a beautiful person, inside and out! She always was so gentle and loving towards me.
Her amazing generosity will always never be forgotten by me. When I think of the unbelievable great 80th
Birthday Party that she organized for me, I am still overcome ! She was definitely a special leaf on our family tree.
I will never stop loving you Ethel ! Your Cousin, Rowena Stickler.

Dear family.
For a number of years now, when I came back to "the farm" on the 6th, Nick & I would get in a brief visit to your Mom. She always had some bit of interesting history to tell us – either about her own side of the family, or that of the McKay’s. Her memory was so good!
She was the last of a generation. We will miss her.
