Obituary for Johanna Cooper (van Groningen)

Peacefully at home on Friday, May 18, 2018. Johanna Wilhelmina Cooper (nee van Groningen) of Alexandria; age 95 years. Beloved wife of Sidney Cooper. Loving mother of Jean Cooper of Alberta, Stella Arseneault (Alain) of Apple Hill, Sidney Cooper Jr. (Johanne) of Glen Robertson, and Glenn Cooper (Louise) of Alexandria. Survived by 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 7 great great-grandchildren. Predeceased by 1 sister Jacoba Knegt, and by her parents Jacobus and Tonia van Groningen (nee Faber). Relatives and friends may call at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main St. South, Alexandria (613-525-2772) on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 from 2 pm - 4 pm and 7 pm - 9 pm and on Thursday from 9:30 am -10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Alexandria United Church (Church on the Hill) on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 11 am. Interment will follow in the Alexandria United Church Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy Memorial Donations to the Alexandria United Church would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Johanna a tree will be planted in a Memory Woods.
