Obituary for William "Bill" Aitken
William (Bill) Allan Aitken passed away at the Maxville Manor on Saturday November 12th, 2022 at the age of 88, with his family by his side. Cherished husband of 67 years to Catherine Aitken (nee Clark). Beloved father of Robert Aitken (Paulie), Lindy Aitken (Jean), John, and Muriel. Much loved uncle of Wayne McNaughton (Jean). Predeceased by his parents Herbert and Lyla Aitken (nee Hall). Also remembered by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, and a niece.
Bill was a devoted husband and father. A “grizzly bear” with a heart of solid gold, man of duty, steward of the land, and life long lover of animals. The cheekiest grin and boundless sense of humour concealed a resolute work ethic and an unshakable dedication to his family.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the exceptional staff of the Maxville Manor for all the kindness, dedication, and love they showed Bill.
A private visitation has taken place, as per his wishes. Interment in North Branch Cemetery, Martintown. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
