Surrounded by her family, Sylvia Joan McRae (nee Smith) passed away at Cornwall Hospice on December 31, 2022 at the age of 84. She will be greatly missed by her beloved husband of 61 years, Dwayne Alexander McRae. The most loved mother of Kevin, Bruce (Susan), and Brad (JoAnna). Treasured Gramma to Melissa (Chris Bingham), Adam, Mitchell, Angus, Kieran, and Sadie. Loving great-gramma to Mackenzie, Myles, Millie, and Maeve Bingham and Mya and Liam McRae. Survived by her siblings Beverly Applejohn, Sandra Buchanan (late Art), and Brian Smith and sisters-in-law Mary Smith, Linda Smith, and Elva Robinson (late Herb). Predeceased by her parents Julie and Clinton Smith, infant grand-daughter Katherine, her brothers Howard, Bobby, Garry and Russell as well as sister-in-law Myrle McDonald (Hugh) and brother-in-law Duncan McRae (Alice). She will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be held at St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 4866 County Road 20, Martintown on Saturday, January 7, 2023 from 10 am until the time of the Funeral Service at 11 am. Interment will follow in the Maxville Cemetery. The family would appreciate any donations be made to Cornwall Hospice or Lung Cancer Canada.
