(Sister Mary of St. Angus, C.S.C.)
Sister of Holy Cross

Sr. Kathryn died peacefully, surrounded by members of her Holy Cross and immediate family, at the Cornwall Community Hospital on February 23, 2023.

Predeceased by her parents, John Allan Cameron and Annie (nee McDonell) Cameron. She is survived by her brother Donald (late Sharon) and their children Geoffrey, Carolyn (Russell) and Brennan (Natalie) and her brother Evans (late Cynthia) (Julie) and their children Stuart (Liann) and Heather (late Robert) as well as so many special grandnieces and grandnephews.

Sr. Kathryn was born August 9, 1934, was raised in Glengarry Township and entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Holy Cross and is celebrating her 69th anniversary. As an educator, she was well loved by her students in Montreal, Ottawa, Cornwall and Alexandria, but her great love was education in the faith as Religious Education Consultant for the SD&G Catholic School Board. Even in retirement, Sr. Kathryn helped prepare children and adults to receive the Sacraments and animated Ascending Life groups. A lifelong lover of music, she directed many choirs and encouraged meaningful liturgical music. She was also an active member of St. Finnan’s Basilica’s Catholic Women’s League.

Loved dearly by her family and her Holy Cross family, Sr. Kathryn radiated that love to each person she met, especially those in need. She will be greatly missed.
