Peacefully, at St. Joseph's Continuing Care Centre, Cornwall, on Sunday, June 21, 2020. Rodney James Craig of South Glengarry, age 51 years. Beloved husband of Kimberley Craig (nee McRae). Devoted father of Ross, Grant, and Campbell, all of South Glengarry. Cherished son of Beverly Craig (nee Johnson) and the late Arthur Craig, and son-in-law of Carolyn (Murray) McRae and the late Ronald McRae. Dear brother of Kevin Craig (Tina) of Alexandria, and brother-in-law of Tracey (McRae) & Steven Finch, Shawn & Tara McRae. Loving uncle to Kieran and Lauryn Craig, Jack, Ellen, and Norah Finch, and Duncan, Malcolm, Alastair, and Molly McRae. Rodney will be forever remembered by his many aunts, uncles and cousins of the Craig and Johnson families, as well as by the McRae and Murray families. Rodney was renowned throughout Glengarry, particularly in the fields of agriculture and sports. His zeal for delivering the absolute best sales and service by the Munro Agromart team, and his after-hours organizational work in minor hockey, soccer, lacrosse and softball organizations were unmatched. The esteem with which he was held in our community remains an indelible testament to his generous character and his tireless energy. A private graveside committal service will be held at St. Andrew's United Church Cemetery, Williamstown on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 2 pm. A public Visitation and Funeral Service will be held at a later date; date and time to be determined. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 46 Oak St. Lancaster (613-347-3629). Monetary donations to St. Joseph's Continuing Care Centre (Complex Care/Rehab Unit), or The Hub for Beyond 21Foundation (Cornwall) would be appreciated by the family. A tree will be planted for Rodney in Memory Woods.

Service Details

In a celebration of Rodney’s life and in support of his family during these times, we are reaching out to the local agricultural community, and all who knew him to say a final goodbye on Thursday, June 25th. We will make a line-up of tractors, Ag vehicles and pickup trucks through the Williamstown Fairgrounds, along the Peanut Line, and up Johnson Road (County Road 19). Rodney’s family will drive through on their way to a private funeral and graveside service. We ask that everyone stand by their vehicles and respect current physical distancing guidelines. We are hoping that tractors start to arrive at 12 pm and followed by trucks and cars, having everyone in place by 1 PM. The family will be driving through at 1:30 PM. Rodney was a great friend and colleague, well respected in the ag community, and everyone who met him remembered who he was. Our goal with the celebration is to help show his family how much impact he had on all of us. We hope to see you there!

We encourage you to share your most beloved memories of Rodney here, so that the family and other loved ones can always see it. You can upload cherished photographs, or share your favorite stories, and can even comment on those shared by others.
