At the River Gardens Residence, Lancaster on Thursday, November 21, 2019. Regina Sommers (nee Roefs) of Lancaster; age 92 years. Beloved wife of the late Cornelius Sommers. Loving mother of Betty (late Richard Monahan) of Peterborough, Peter (Louise) of Lancaster, John (Cathy) of Orleans, Martin (Emmy) of Long Sault, Anne Marie VanSleeuwen (Cory) of Williamstown, Jerry (Wendy) of Newington, Bernie (Cindy) of Cornwall, Gene (Amy) of Florida, Francis (Claudette) of Orleans, and Joe (Wendy) of Blackburn Hamlet. Dear sister of Mary Beks (late Francis) of Vankleek Hill, Josephine Peeters (Peter) of Cornwall, Tina Smolenaars (late Gerry), John Roefs (late Anna Mae), and Tony Roefs (Rita) all of Nova Scotia. Predeceased by sons Henry and Michael (late Charlene), brothers Frank and Harry, sister Nelly, granddaughters Roxanne and Laurie Anne, and by her parents Henry and Anna Roefs (nee Brouwers). Also survived by 22 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 46 Oak St. Lancaster (613-347-3629) on Thursday, November 28, 2019 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm and on Friday from 9:30 am -10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Lancaster on Friday, November 29, 2019 at 11 am. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy Memorial Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Regina a tree will be planted in a Memory Woods.
