Obituary for Phyllis Reid (McCauley)

Peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at the time of her choosing, with her children by her side, Phyllis Reid brought to a close her long battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth Mair and the late Gordon L. Reid. Proud mother of Spencer Mair of Calgary and Leanne Mair of Edmonton. Loving grandmother to Kayseas Redsky and great grandmother to Willow Redsky. Phyllis is survived by her sister Patricia Lingard (Wayne). Predeceased by her parents Garnet and Margaret McCauley, and her brothers Hubert (late Helen), Eric (late Carol), and Carson (late Violet). She is lovingly remembered by her nieces Wendy (Rick) Taylor and Margaret (Tim) Martin and her nephew Hugh McCauley. Favourite great aunt to Kayla and Travis Taylor. Phyllis will also be fondly remembered by many Reid nieces and nephews. Even years after her retirement Phyllis spoke about the joy of working as part of the support team at the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre, Civic Hospital. Special interests over the years included being a Master Graphoanalyst, landscape and portrait painting, crafting and travelling overseas and to Western Canada. Phyllis will always be remembered for her love of family, friends, church and hugs. The family would like to thank Bradley Reid, family and friends, and Bridlewood Retirement Residence staff, for their caring, visits and compassionate support. Friends are welcome to join family at a graveside remembrance service at Westminster Cemetery on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at 1 pm. Memorial donations to the Westminster Cemetery would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements under the care and direction of the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 20 Main Street South, Maxville, Ontario, 613-527-2898.
