Obituary

Passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 10, 2020. Lorenzo Casanova of Williamstown, formerly of Verdun; age 65 years. Beloved husband of Sylvie Linhares. Survived by his daughter Deanna Casanova. Cherished son of the late Leonardo and Anna Casanova (nee Marchesani). Dear brother of Joseph Casanova (Nicole), uncle of Hugo Casanova (Ingrid), brother-in-law of Billy Linhares, and son-in-law of Elvira Linhares. He will be missed by his best friend Bernie Daoust, and by his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A private Service will be held in the Chapel of the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 46 Oak St. Lancaster (613-347-3629). A Celebration of Life will be held once the Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted. Date and time to be announced. As expressions of sympathy Memorial Donations to the Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Lorenzo a tree will be planted in a Memory Woods.

J'ai eu le plaisir de faire partie de l'entourage de travail de Lorenzo à plusieurs occasions au cours des 15 dernières années. Lorenzo a toujours traité ses clients et collègues avec respect, compétence et bonne humeur. C'est le souvenir que je vais garder des moments passés avec Lorenzo.

Chère Sylvie, je n'ai pas eu le privilège de rencontrer ton conjoint. Cela dit, je tiens à t'offir mes plus sincères condoléances. Je veux aussi offrir mes sympathies à toute sa famille.

Chère Sylvie, famille et amis, Nous avons eu le privilège de côtoyer Lorenzo à quelques reprises et la connection à cet homme était instantanée. Un homme doux, jovial, humble, articulé et de toute gentillesse. Ce fût un choc et très triste pour nous d'apprendre que la maladie l'emporterait si rapidement. Nous sommes de tout coeur avec toi Sylvie ainsi qu'avec la famille en ces moments douloureux. On le gardera précieusement et à jamais dans nos coeurs ... Steven Théorêt & Gina Julie Lacombe

When I worked at the ICN NOC I spoke with Lorenzo regularly for many years. It was always a pleasure to hear his voice and the way he would break into laughter at funny comments, keeping his sense of humour even in tense situations. I must admit we ladies found him quite charming! My condolences to Sylvie, his family and friends.
