McEwen, Kenneth Alexander, RCMP S/Sgt, CSIS, Retired

August 24, 1932 – February 9, 2024

Peacefully at home in Blackburn Hamlet on Friday, February 9, 2024. Kenneth Alexander McEwen of Ottawa; age 91 years. High school sweetheart, best friend, and beloved husband of the late Christina (Tina Mae) McEwen (née MacLeod)[2021]. Dear father of Patricia McWilliams, Lynn Bloess (Rainer) and Ronald McEwen (Janet). Proud Grandpa of Kenneth, Ira, Paige, Amos, Sara and Malcolm. Great Grandpa of Alec, Ara, Sage, Juniper, Cadence, Juliette, Finlay, Piper and Nathaniel. Predeceased by his parents Malcolm McEwen and Margaret McCall, and brother Gregor McEwen (Grace). Survived by his sister Ada McEwen.

The family would like to thank Dr. Brodeur, Dr. Wong and Dr. Gupta, of Bytown Palliative Medicine, the amazing Katrina at the Champlain Home and Community Care Support Services, and Diane and nurses from St. Elizabeth Health Care. With the support of the caring Carefor team, Dad was able to fulfill his final wish to stay in his own home.

Funeral arrangements under the care and direction of Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 20 Main St. Maxville (613-527-2898). At the family’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral. Burial of cremated remains in the Kenyon Presbyterian cemetery. As a memorial to Kenneth, a tree will be planted in a memory woods. A tree grows – memories live.
