Obituary for Juliette Aubry (Dubois)

It is with great sadness that the family of Juliette Aubry announces her passing at Glengarry Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 in her one-hundredth year (at 99.9 years). Born in 1921 in L’Orignal, Ontario, she was predeceased, by her loving husband, Gabriel Gilles Aubry, QC, in 1996, by her parents Conrad Dubois and Régina Bougie, and by her siblings Dr. Jacques Dubois, Madeleine Lavallée and Thérèse Berthiaume. Mourning her loss are her children: Louise Aubry, Dr. Jean (Heather) Aubry, Pierre Aubry (Jane Dudley), Elaine (John) Bancroft, Richard (Darquise) Aubry, and Claire (the late Robert) Gorman. She is survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Juliette received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Ottawa in 1941 and went on to teachers’ college. Prior to her marriage in 1945, she taught in Sudbury, St. Thomas and Eganville. She will be remembered forever for her baking, especially her pies and Christmas squares. Her recipes will live on. The family would like to thank Dr. Lucie Lajoie and the wonderful staff of HGMH, as well as the caring and supportive staff of Valley Garden Retirement Centre. Due to restrictions, a private visitation and Funeral Service will be held at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main St. South, Alexandria (613-525-2772). Those wishing to make a donation in her memory are asked to consider the Fondation de l’Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital Foundation.
