Peacefully at the Cornwall Hospice on Friday, February 24, 2023. Jason Robert MacDonald of Williamstown; age 52 years. Cherished husband of Laura MacDonald (née Van Loon). Loving father of Colin MacDonald, Ethan MacDonald and Fiona MacDonald. Beloved son of Gordon and Sharon MacDonald (née Fitzpatrick). Dear brother of Devon MacDonald (Julie).
Jason grew up in Williamstown and proudly raised his own family there with his wife Laura. Some of his greatest joy came from his three children who carry on his charisma, sense of humour, athleticism and love for their community. Jason enjoyed volunteering as a coach for Char-Lan minor soccer, and a trainer for hockey and attended many of Fiona, Ethan and Colin’s activities. He was also fond of spending time with family and friends outdoors, especially in the warm weather. He could often be seen running through Williamstown, down at the park or sitting by a pool.
Jason attended Char- Lan District High School and later graduated as a Registered Nurse from St. Lawrence College. He practised Nursing at the Cornwall Community Hospital for 25 years having worked most of his career in Emergency and more recently in C.C.U. Jason was a caring, hardworking, and talented nurse whose smile, warmth and charm touched the lives of so many. Jason is also survived by his cherished aunts and uncles, many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. He will truly be missed by all who knew him and will never be forgotten.
Relatives and friends may call at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 46 Oak Street, Lancaster, ON (613-347-3629) on Friday March 3, 2023 from 2-5 and 7 – 9 pm. Family and friends may also attend a Celebration of Jason’s Life at the St. Mary’s Centre, Williamstown on Saturday, March 4 from 1-5 pm with eulogies at 3 pm.
