Obituary

COLLARD, Francis (Frank, Boo) Earl. Peacefully, at home on July 28, 2020, with his loving wife of 58 years, Annemarie (Blackman) by his side. Son of the late Vincent Collard of London England, and Annie Mason of Accrington, Lancashire England. Born in Montreal on Groundhog Day, February 2, 1933, Frank was the 7th son of 11 children. He is pre-deceased by his brothers Connie, Gerald (Evelyn), Bernie (Florence), Leslie (Isabel), Lenny, (Shirley) and Bill, and by his sisters Claire Nunn (Con), Beverly Feudi(John) and Katherine Ashley (Doug) and one granddaughter Christina Annie Collard. He is survived by his sister Shirley Collard and sister-in-law Evelyn White Collard. Frank is also survived by his children, Tony, Vincent (Lynne Lemieux), Francinna (Jim Lickers), and Christina (Joel D'Amour), his 10 grandchildren Sass Vigeant (Josh Davies), Hannah Vigeant, Rebekah Collard, Emily Collard, Matthew Collard, Joshua Collard (Shelby Ogden), Andrew Collard (Melanie Bréard), Jessica Collard D'Amour, Katie Collard and Nicholas Collard, and his two great-granddaughters Charley and Ryan Collard. He was also lovingly known as "Uncle Boo" and will be sadly missed by 39 nieces and nephews. Frank was a loving foster-parent to many foster children through CAS and with his wife, ran a group home for developmentally delayed adults. As an avid lover of jazz music, Frank's passion was playing jazz trumpet, and he was part of many local big bands. Known by his friends and family as a mentor, philosopher, and poet, Frank was a kind and gentle soul and a true gentleman. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. Deepest thanks to the palliative nurses at Bayshore Health Care especially Danielle, Linda, and Brian, for their exceptional care and compassion, as well as Dr. Val Rossbach. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, a private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Finnan's Catholic church at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main St. South, Alexandria (613-525-2772). As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to The St. Vincent de Paul Society of Alexandria or Hopital Glengarry Memorial Hospital. As a Memorial to Francis a tree will be planted in a Memory Woods.

My deepest sympathies to Anne-Marie and all of the Collard family. I have know Anne-Marie and Frank since I was a teenager growing up on LaSalle Quebec in the late 60s, early 70s. My parents, Yvette and Larry Ducharme were part of the same catholic group as Anne-Marie and Frank. I had come to visit them on their farm in Glen Roy in the 70s and destiny would have it that I now live just down the road from that farm . God bless his soul. Colette Ducharme

Frank and I Share a wonderful gradaughter, Becha. Over the years we've enjoyed friendly conversations about family, faith, music and their building projects. Our last visit was when Becha hosted a delicious thanksgiving dinner and Frank and I found a quiet corner to visit. As he has gone home to be with our Lord, we entrust him, , Annemarie and their family into God' loving care.

Dear Annemarie, our deepest sympathies to you and the family.
We will never forget how welcoming you and Frank were when we first moved to Glengarry. We hope all your memories of a life well-lived and well-loved will help to console you during this sad time.
