Obituary for Fleurette Blanchette

Fleurette Blanchette (nee L’Ecuyer; formally Cadieux) passed away peacefully surrounded by her beloved family in the beautiful comforts of her home on Friday, February 26, 2021 at the incredible age of 97 years old.

Fleurette was born on August 9, 1923 in Dalkeith, Ontario. As a young girl, she lived on the family farm with her (predeceased) brothers Reginald L’Ecuyer , Valaire L’Ecuyer, Florian L’Ecuyer; (predeceased) sisters Paulette Deslauriers, Bernadette Leger, Ambroisia Rouleau and her hardworking, loving parents (predeceased) Arthur L’Ecuyer and Olivina (Laviolette). She is survived by her baby brother Arthur L’Ecuyer.

At a very young age, she started working out of the home and continued working hard all of her life to help support her family.

She met the love of her life Omer Cadieux when she was 14, and they were married on January 27, 1942.
Together they raised 6 wonderful children that they were so very proud of; Yvon Cadieux (Huguette); late Lucien (Ginette); Jeannine Firth; Irene McDonell (Gerald); Gaetan Cadieux (Michelle); Elaine Van der Byl (Adrian), and predeceased by an infant daughter Marie.

Fleurette loved Music, Knitting, doing things for anyone just to make them happy, driving the “old folks” to their doctors appointments, and Praying for anyone that needed an extra boost, an extra prayer or needed healing. What Fleurette loved most of all was her family, including her precious grand-children. And predeceased by infant Jacques Cadieux

She was equally proud of each one of her 19 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren.

After the passing of her precious husband Omer, she re-married Rolland Blanchette where they enjoyed the comforts each others company, and had a good life together until his eventual passing.

Funeral arrangements under the care and direction on Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main St. South, Alexandria (613-525-2772). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Finnan’s Cathedral, Alexandria on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 11 am. For those who wish to attend the controlled Funeral Mass, must call the Funeral Home, Mon. to Fri. between 9 am & 5 pm, to register your attendance. Masks and physical distancing will be required. Spring interment in St. Alexander’s Parish Cemetery, Lochiel. As expressions of sympathy Memorial Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Fleurette a tree will be planted in a Memory Woods
