To the extended McLennan clan,
My deepest sympathy on the loss of your father/grandfather. May your memories help you through this difficult time. I have many fond memories of the over 20 years he led the Sandringham Calf Club. You chose a great picture of him smiling! Through all his and Joanne's health challenges, I rarely saw him without a smile. I know my father appreciated having him as a neighbour he could count on to share a corn planter with or chase/roundup heifers that managed to jump the fence and head to your place!

To Rob and Kathy, I was saddened to learn of your Dad's passing and would like to extend my deepest condolences to you and your families. Our connection to the Mclennan family goes back to 1954 when my parents bought the farm next door. Douglas, my brother Kris and I started high school together, belonged to PYPS under the leadership of your grandfather John, and when our lives digressed some yers later we knew that we could rely on the fact that Douglas would still be "home" in St Elmo> He was a great help to my parents in their later years. Seated beside Douglas at the funeral reception for my niece Lisa in 2013, I was aware that he had not changed over the years...still the same kind, gentlemanly, humorous person that I remembered. It was a pleasure to meet you last year when Kris and I drove to St Elmo to visit Douglas and we did a nostalgic tour of the areas that were so familiar from our youth. I cherish the memories of the time that we spent with your Dad, his sense of humour and his reminiscences of shared experiences. What a blessing to be raised in a home with such a fine example of service to his family, friends and community. May your fond memories bring you peace at this sad time.
