Condolence: Sorry to see Sonny’s obituary. Years ago we operated dozers side by side for a few weeks and he didn’t like that his higher hp dozer was not exceeding mine so he wanted to bring in a screwdriver and adjust the setting on the injection pump. I asked him he he had adjusted one before and what if he blew up DL’s dozer? If the screwdriver ever came to site it stayed in his lunch pail and he squirmed in his seat. Years later we crossed paths at the King Edward and we had our laughs .... He was an extremely polite individual. Rest In Peace

Condolence: Our Brother, Sonny, had such a huge sense of responsibility, from a young age, feeling responsible for all of us on the farm. Even after we left home, we always had the security of knowing that he would be there for us anywhere, anytime. Sonny had a huge influence on who we became as adults. We learned so much from him. Sonny had extremely high work ethics. Hard Work was his middle name. From a very young age, his entire life, all he ever knew were days filled with hard work. He was a gentle giant, a kind person, not a mean bone in his body. He was blessed to have a loving, caring wife, Liette. He was so proud of his children grandchildren and great grandchildren. One of his great joys was when our brother purchased the huge bush lot across from him. He called it his ‘Heaven on Earth’. He loved the woods. He was also in his glory when the ‘Russell’s would have the family gatherings, either at his home, St. Raphaels or in the Bush. He suffered so much this past year, but never gave up his joy of living. It is a comfort to think that one of Sonny’s last wishes on this earth would have been this prayer: “Please Lord, let me take my final walk in the woods that I love, to sit down in the chair in front of the little cabin, to rest my tired, weary, worn out body. Let me feel the warmth of the sun shining on my face, to see the deer and the little creatures come closer to me. Let me close my eyes, to fall asleep for one last time, listening to the wind in the leaves of those beautiful trees, and let me wake up to feel loving, gentle hands on my face and Mom’s voice saying “Welcome Home, Sonny.” Goodbye dear brother. Rest In Peace. 🙏🙏🙏
