Condolence: I have no words of wisdom to offer you at this time, a most difficult and sad time...Your father and I's paths crossed many times over the past 30 years, and his soft voice and kind eyes always struck me, as he was such a tall athletic man...
You were his rock Dale, his angel...He will be looking after you now, from above. I send you all my love, strength and light...

Pierre

Condolence: I have read most of the wonderful condolences from Don's friends, colleagues, alumni. I met him a few times when he came to Montreal to visit with his Daughter Dale (my friend). Even with a brief introduction, you could sense he was well educated, a former athlete and a knowledgeable Man.

Well done Dale for taking care of your Father for many years; As well as putting together a nice dignifying memorial and funeral service, in such a short time for Mr. Don Robertson Senior. God bless!

Condolence: I am so very sorry to hear about the passing away of your dad, Don. I first met Don in Biggar, SK in 1982 when we moved to Canada from Kenya. He worked with my husband, Mustafa, and became a family friend. He had a special nick name for me (Rawhide), because he heard the young son of a mutual friend call me that instead of Rehana. We spent many happy times in Biggar and at brewing conventions. He will be remembered by our family very fondly. Thank you for reaching out and letting us know. He always spoke very fondly of you, Dale and he was pleased that we had met in Montreal. Please accept our deepest sympathies

Condolence: I first met Don,Donna and Dale when I became the Chantecler Ski Hill Professional Ski Patroller back in 1970-71. I was very new to Canada and Don and Donna took me under their wings and helped me adjust to my new life as a Canadian. Living on a professional ski patroller's salary back then was tough and Don and Donna, made sure I did not starve, providing me with meals at least twice a week, if not more . Don was a terrific head of the Chantecler Canadian ski patrol team and over the three years that I was part of that team we had great times together and we spent many a happy evening dancing and drinking in the Chantecler bar. Back then, I was a Chef by trade and over the winters of 1971-72, 1972-73 I shared a ski chalet with six patrollers. There would be a long list of patrollers who would sign up to joinus at our ski chalet for the three course dinners I would put on each Saturday and or Sunday night. Don was always one of the individuals on the list. Don was one of three individuals who snuck up to our ski chalet one night and threw cherry bombs at our front door and scared the heck out of us, a story too long to tell here, but with many laughs. Distance, over the years kept us apart and yet we stayed in touch. I last saw Don and Dale in Cornawll in 2013 and although Don at that time was not doing too well, he had great spirit and determination to continue with life and with Dale at his side and Donna's help, they gave him fantastic support to see his way through the trials and tribulations in his later years. Don taught me what it was like to give to others and although we never spoke about what he and Donna did for me, I was able to pass on their kindness in like manner to many others through out my life. Thank you Don and Donna for being their for me and thank you Dale for being their for your father.

Condolence: There are not many people who have a memorable impact on us after they leave this world and yet spending but just a few days with Don in what we can call a small road trip has done just that. He was a gracious host and treated me like I was part of his family. He was a loving and kind man. I would often think about him and missed him in my life. He was a good role model for me. Of course, once you get to know the Robinson family you can see that there is something special about them all. The respect and love they have for one another is inspiring!

I offer my deepest condolences to his family and everyone who knew him for surely Don will be missed for so many great reasons.

Condolence: Don had such a profound influence on so many in the brewing industry... an industry that he loved so dearly.
He coordinated my sponsorship to join MBAA in 1995, and Don is the sole reason I joined him on the District Ontario Golf Committee in 1997. This year is our 79th annual tournament, and my yearly joke that "Don has attended every one of our past 78 tournaments" isn't too far from the truth! He truly loved the camaraderie of the Master Brewers Assn and the various functions and events that brought everyone together.
The industry has lost a wealth of knowledge, passion, and experience... things Don was always willing to share with anyone he met. His family must be proud of how many careers he has shaped over the years, mine included. I will always treasure my time with Don.
