The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Donald Robinson can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

I first met Don,Donna and Dale when I became the Chantecler Ski Hill Professional Ski Patroller back in 1970-71. I was very new to Canada and Don and Donna took me under their wings and helped me adjust to my new life as a Canadian. Living on a professional ski patroller's salary back then was tough and Don and Donna, made sure I did not starve, providing me with meals at least twice a week, if not more . Don was a terrific head of the Chantecler Canadian ski patrol team and over the three years that I was part of that team we had great times together and we spent many a happy evening dancing and drinking in the Chantecler bar. Back then, I was a Chef by trade and over the winters of 1971-72, 1972-73 I shared a ski chalet with six patrollers. There would be a long list of patrollers who would sign up to joinus at our ski chalet for the three course dinners I would put on each Saturday and or Sunday night. Don was always one of the individuals on the list. Don was one of three individuals who snuck up to our ski chalet one night and threw cherry bombs at our front door and scared the heck out of us, a story too long to tell here, but with many laughs. Distance, over the years kept us apart and yet we stayed in touch. I last saw Don and Dale in Cornawll in 2013 and although Don at that time was not doing too well, he had great spirit and determination to continue with life and with Dale at his side and Donna's help, they gave him fantastic support to see his way through the trials and tribulations in his later years. Don taught me what it was like to give to others and although we never spoke about what he and Donna did for me, I was able to pass on their kindness in like manner to many others through out my life. Thank you Don and Donna for being their for me and thank you Dale for being their for your father.
