Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Charlie Wilber Snow at the age of 95, on Thursday, June 11, 2020. Born on December 31st, 1924 to parents Alex John Dilbert (McCoy) Snow and Henrietta Georgina (Purchase) in Farnham Glen, Quebec. The last of their 8 children. Predeceased by his sisters Mabel, Clara, Laura, Nellie, Mary, Henrietta and brother John. Was ex- husband of the late Lois Snow (née Tracy). Also a life partner of the late Laura Miltimore (née Forbes). He leaves to grieve his children; Lane (Gloria), Wendy (David), Kevin and Cheryl (Paul). Cherished grandfather of Sherry, Charles (Amy-Lynn), Derek, Brad (Connie), Tracy, Cody (Mandy), as well as Melissa and Maria, great-grandfather of Austin (Theresa), Ethan, Dylan, Preston, Aiden, Logan, Mackenzie and great-great grandfather of Zayd and Atlas. Charlie will be sadly missed by all who knew him – including cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. We are grateful for the time spent and the lessons learned that will always be held close in our hearts. He will be remembered for his kind, gentle manner, the sparkle in his eyes and the warmth of his sly smile. His love for the outdoors and the thrill of the hunt that he shared with his extended Miltimore family, will always be cherished. A gracious thank-you for the respect and care given in dad’s later years by Lane and Gloria and the staff at both Maxville Manor (Maxville, ON) and Parisien Manor (Cornwall, ON). Also to the staff of Munro & Morris Funeral Homes who accompanied dad on his final journey. We will be eternally grateful. Funeral arrangements under the care and direction of Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main Street South, Alexandria, Ontario (613-525-2772). A graveside committal service will be held in Cowansville, Quebec at a later date. As a Memorial to Charlie a tree will be planted in a Memory Woods.

I remember many visits to Uncle Charlie's house with Mom (Henrietta) whenever I went to Quebec to stay with her. He was one of her favourite people and we enjoyed our time with him. My condolences.
