Our Dear Brother

Lets take our hearts for a walk in the woods, and listen to the magic whispers of old trees. Sonny Loved The Woods! Our Brother, Sonny, had such a huge sense of Responsibility, even from a young age, always feeling responsible for us on the farm, continuing as we left home, always there if one of us was in need of something. We always knew he would be there for us anywhere, anytime. Sonny had extremely high work ethics. Hard Work was his middle name. From a young age, his entire life, all he ever knew were days filled with hard work. Sonny was a kind, giving soul, he did not have a mean bone in his body. He was blessed to have had a loving, caring wife, Liette, where, all through their life together, she supported him in all his endeavours. He was so proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. When our brother purchased the huge bush lot across from Sonny, he called it his Heaven on Earth. He loved the bush, the trees, the forest animals, the little cabin in the woods. He was so content with life when he was in the Bush. One of his great joys was when the Russells would have the family gatherings, either at his home, St. Raphaels or in the Bush. All that to say, it is a comfort to think that one of Sonnys last wishes on this earth would have been this prayer: Please Lord, let me take my final walk in the bush I love, to sit down on the chair in front of the little cabin, to rest my tired, weary, worn out body. Let me feel the warmth of the sun shining on my face, to see the deer and the little creatures come closer to me. Let me close my eyes, to fall asleep for one last time, listening to the wind in the leaves of those beautiful trees, and let me wake up to feel loving, gentle hands on my face and Moms voice saying Welcome Home, Sonny Rest In Peace, Sonny.
