At the Glengarry Memorial Hospital on Sunday, May 30, 2021. Arthur Myles Benton of Hamiltons Island, formerly of Martintown; age 78 years. Beloved husband of Gwenneth Benton (nee Lafave). Loving father of Scott Benton (Kelly) of Hamiltons Island, Sherri Benton of Cornwall, and the late Shelley Benton. Cherished grandfather of Ben, Mitchell, Zachary and Aiden, and great-grandfather of Mary Jane. Dear brother of Bill Benton (Jackie) of Martintown, Dwayne Benton (Sandy) of Apple Hill, Bryce Benton (Mary) of Cherry Valley, Violet Ann Shorey (late Norman) of Belleville, Margaret Dickson (Edwin), and Lynn McDonald (Barry) both of Maxville. Predeceased by his brothers Allan Benton, Donnie Benton (Pauline of Cornwall), and Burns Benton (Joan of Picton), by his sister Esther Benton, and by his parents John D. and Violet Benton (nee McArthur). Art is a life member of the Kinsmen Club, a past Master of the Martintown Masonic Lodge #596, and a member of the SD&G Shrine Club. A Memorial Funeral Service will be held in the St. Andrews United Church, Martintown on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 2 pm. Followed by interment in the North Branch Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Cornwall Golf and Country Club following the urn burial. Brethren of the Masonic Lodge are requested to gather in the Martintown United Church Hall at 1:30 pm prior to the precisely 2 pm Service.
